About WTDR

WTDR-2016 is part of ROBOTICA 2016, which will be held in Rio Mar Shopping at Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, on October 09-12, 2016.

WTDR provides an opportunity for PhD and MSc students in Brazil to present their ongoing and/or recently concluded research with a panel of established researchers in Robotics.

The workshop aims to:

  • Provide a setting for mutual feedback on participants’ current research and guidance on future research directions;
  • Develop a supportive community of scholars and a spirit of collaborative research;
  • Contribute to the conference goals through interaction of graduate students with other researchers as well as participation in conference events;
  • Increase the visibility of ongoing work for the academic and industrial community.

 

About CTDR

CTDR-2016 will take place in parallel to WTDR-2016. The main goals of CTDR are to divulge and award the best academic work in Robotics concluded in Brazilian Universities from October, 2014 to October, 2016. CTDR expects papers with concluded work, with evaluation and results. Selected works will be presented and judged during ROBOTICA 2016. Notice that in the submission phase, the main object of judgment is the paper; while during the conference, the main object of judgment is the full thesis or dissertation (to be submitted if the paper is accepted).

Paper Submission and Review

Papers can be written in English or in Portuguese and must not exceed 10 pages (WTDR) and 12 pages (CTDR), including title, abstract, all tables, figures, and references. Over length submissions will be rejected without review. Authors should use the style file of Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes. We expect submission of papers to WTDR with research purposes and appropriate motivation, literature review, and methods. Results (preliminary, at least) are desirable, but not necessary. Submission to CTDR expects papers with concluded work, with evaluation and results.

Papers should include the following information in the first page after the abstract: student level (MSc or PhD) and expected date of conclusion or the date of conclusion (CTDR). Authors must also indicate in the first page if the submission should be considered in CTDR. In addition, include the name of the advisor (and co-advisors) as co-authors.

Submissions violating the formatting guidelines will be excluded from the reviewing process. Only papers in pdf format will be accepted.

Papers must be submitted using the JEMS system: https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/

Papers may be accepted for oral or poster presentation. All WTDR/CTDR accepted papers will be published in CD-ROM proceedings.

At least one author of each accepted paper must be registered and attend the conference to present the work. We recommend that the students present their works, as the events may be a valuable experience for them.

The 7th Workshop of Robotics in Education (WRE 2016)

Robotics motivates and inspires people of all ages and education levels. Thus, many researchers have already shown that students get more interested and excited to learn several topics when robotics is involved in the learning process. As a result, the use of robotics on education has been gaining great interest over the last years. WRE is a forum to discuss technical, educational and other aspects of the usage of robotics in education.

The 7th Workshop of Robotics in Education (WRE 2016) will be held in October 2016 jointly with several Robotics Conferences in Recife-PE

Proceedings
Authors registered for LARS 2016 will be automatically registered for WRE 2016.

Brazilian Conference on Intelligent System – BRACIS 2016

bracisBRACIS is one of the most important events in Brazil for researchers in the field of Artificial and Computational intelligence. The domain of the conference includes traditional and original topics of both areas and it aims to promote theories and novel applications dealing with the use and analysis of AI/CI techniques in various related fields.

BRACIS also aims for the promotion of international level research by exchanging scientific ideas among researchers, practitioners, scientists and engineers. The yearly event series started in 2012 from the combination
of the Brazilian Symposium on Artificial Intelligence – SBIA (21 editions) and the Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks – SBRN (12 editions).

In this year, it will be held in conjunction with the XIII ENIAC – Encontro Nacional de Inteligência Artificial e Computacional, 3rd KDMile – Symposium on Knowledge Discovery, Mining and Learning and X CTDIAC – Concurso de Teses e Dissertações em Inteligência Artificial e Computacional.

About LARS/SBR 2016

SBR’2016 – 4th Brazilian Symposium on Robotics and LARS’2016 – 13rd Latin American Robotics Symposium.

The LARS/SBR Robotics Symposium is part of the ROBOTICA 2016, and aims at promoting a comprehensive scientific meeting in the area of Intelligent Robotics, bringing together researchers, undergraduate and graduate students of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and related areas.

The event will be held through technical sessions of oral presentation of full papers and technical lectures of recognized importance in the area. We are looking forward to seeing you in LARS/SBR 2016.

The LARS and SBR are the major scientific/academic meetings of the entire event that will have others relevant events on robotics. The event will also comprise CTDR/WTDR – Workshop on MSc Dissertation and PhD Thesis in Robotics, the WRE – Workshop of Robotics in Education, LARC – 15th. Latin American Robotics Competition; CBR – 14th Competição Brasileira de Robótica; OBR – 10th. Olimpíada Brasileira de Robótica; MNR – 6th. Mostra Nacional de Robótica.

All registration categories include access to all the events in Robotica 2016, welcome reception and conference dinner.

Conference dinner accompanying adhesion can be purchased on the conference site.

For each accepted paper in LARS/SBR 2016 at least one author should register at full registration by August 26th, 2016
Without registering, your paper will not appear in the proceedings.

Each full registration will be considered for up to two (2) papers in LARS/SBR 2016. If the author has more than 2 paper to be published, any additional paper will require an extra fee of R$ 250,00. For example, a registration of an author for 4 papers in LARS/SBR 2016 would be 1 (one) full registration + 2 (two) extra papers fees.

For WRE, WTDR and CTDR co-allocated events, at least one author must be registered in the event (Full or student registration). There is no limit of papers.

CANCELATION POLICY
The deadline for the registration refund request is at most two weeks prior to the event and the amount to be reimbursed will be 80%.
